Oiling and Taking Care Of Wooden Garage Doors
Oiling your wooden garage door is necessary to protect it against the elements. Depending on the weather this should be done at least twice per year. Follow the instruction from the wooden garage door manufacturer to make sure you are using the correct products and applying them as they should be done. If your door is well looked after it will be protected from rain, hail, wind and all other elements.
If your garage door is cracking or starting to look bad it is almost too late to just oil the door again. You would need to get a wooden door specialists to do the repair. In the worst case it might be required that you replace the entire door.
Make sure to oil your Garage Door! If you selected a wooden garage door that has the original wood grain on the door, you will most likely find that the wood is stained; and has some kind of moisture resistant topcoat.
The oil should be reapplied periodically once or twice a year to maintain maximum moisture resistance.
